I hope everyone had the Christmas they wished for and that you are looking forward to the New Year ahead!
Being relatively new to the Blogging world I had never taken part in a swap before and as I am trying to become ‘Greener’, I thought this would be a great way to get to know other Green Bloggers and also, hopefully, try out some new products, so I put my name forward.
At the end of November I was thrilled to receive an email from Jenny from Redheadbeautydiaries.co.uk introducing herself as my Beauty Swap Partner.
We decided on a budget and let each other know if we had any particular likes/dislikes. I said I was still on the lookout for a great ‘green’ lip balm.
Jenny’s gift to me was beautifully packaged (and smelling divine!) and arrived a week or two before Christmas. I decided to put it under the tree and wait until Christmas Day before unwrapping it. (Unfortunately, I have managed to lose the photos I took, along with some of the packaging before I unwrapped this).
INSIDE THE BOX!
Jenny’s box was bursting with goodies. So many new products to try out, I didn’t know where to start!
BLOOM REMEDIES – A small, family run, organic skincare company based in Cornwall
Body Butter and Balm Mini Set – This is a great way to try out Bloom Remedies products. In the set is a hand balm (I neglect my hands so badly), a body butter and a foot balm (will need this in vats as I’m taking part in a 100k charity walk in May)! They all have a different, delicious scent to them. I can’t wait to give them a proper road test!
PURE THOUGHTS – A family run company, making handmade products with natural ingredients
From Pure Thoughts, there was a brilliant Lip Scrub. I have to admit to not having used a lip scrub for many years and approached this with caution as my previous encounters have not been too good.
I need not have worried! This has the balance right between exfoliating properties and moisturising ingredients and left my lips plump and feeling nourished. I will definitely be using this again.
Included too was a Kukui & Shea Butter Natural Lip Balm which is great to use after the scrub to keep my lips in tip top condition.
I also found a Mandarin & Olive Hand Repair Balm which I have been using to rub into my cuticles. It has a lovely, fresh, citrus scent.
Lastly, from Pure Thoughts was a Eucalyptus and Rosehip soap. I have yet to use this, but I’m looking forward to trying this out having never used natural soap before.
BODHI – Inspired by nature and natural remedies from around the world
The Cacao Cacoon Lip Treatment Balm is like nothing I have tried before. Like most natural lip balms it takes a bit of warming up before use. I found scraping a little of the balm out of the jar with a cotton bud and warming it on the back of my hand made it easy to apply. It is packed with moisture boosting ingredients and kept my lips hydrated for hours.
OUR TINY BEES – developed from family beekeeping business. A percentage of the companies profits go back to supporting British bees
Our Tiny Bees Lip Balm is like putting pure honey on your lips (taste wise). It is also probably the easiest of the balms to use as it is a softer consistency. Another winner!
In the box, there was also a Honey Whipped Body Butter scented with Vanilla, which is one of my favourite smells. A cross between a cream and a balm, you can tell it is packed with shea & cocoa as it is ultra moisturising.
My daughter took a shine to this next Our Tiny Bees product. A rather cool looking bath melt in the form of a bar of chocolate! Izzy said she has never felt so moisturised after having a bath. I will hide this before she uses it all before me!
HERBFARMACY – all of the Organic Skincare range are produced in the UK and are handmade on site
A girl can’t have too many lip balms! This is a great one for keeping with you when you are out and about. It’s very easy to use and I love the Marshmallow and Vanilla ‘flavour’.
Oh, and lets not forget a Green & Black’s chocolate bar – that certainly won’t last long!
I can’t thank you enough for this wonderful box of Green Goodies Jenny. I will most certainly be visiting the websites of these companies in the very near future.
Also a big thanks to Ria and Tania for organising this. I hope you do it again in the future.
