GREEN BEAUTY | USA HAUL: SKINCARE

My first green beauty stop was a large Whole Foods Market in Monterey, California. The purpose of this visit was to pick up a picnic. I, of course, headed straight to the beauty section! Under great time pressure, I had to leave empty handed (well, nearly, I did pick up a couple of nail polishes). I comforted myself that I was heading to San Francisco where I had the addresses of a few green beauty stores I intended to visit.

Unfortunately, we had a tight schedule and I was unable to make it to the stores I had earmarked. I did, however, pick up a few bits (in slight desperation), in Urban Decay.

I bought a bottle of Uncle Harry’s Natural Products Antibacterial Vinegar, for ‘naturally radiant skin‘ at a bargain $6. Now, I have found myself having a love hate relationship with this. To put it bluntly, it stinks! It has such a strong vinegar smell (I know that should not come as a surprise)! It only has three ingredients Apple Cider Vinegar, eucalyptus and tea tree essential oils. I used this a lot when on holiday, almost like a micellar water and have continued now I am at home. I will definitely make up a bottle of this myself when this runs out.

Another purchase was this Gentle Eye Gel Make-up Remover by tridoshic. This has been a huge hit with me and may have knocked my holy grail Bloom Remedies Rose Eye Make-up Oil Cleanser off the top spot! This milky fluid (made with natural and organic ingredients) works a treat at removing any eye makeup. I like that it comes with a pipette applicator. I use it in much the same way as Bloom Remedies – by massaging into my lashes and then removing with my regular cleanser. I will be sad when this comes to an end.

As I mentioned in my last post (Green Beauty | USA Haul: Makeup), I loved shopping in The Detox Market, LA. and picked up these skincare bits from there. As with my make-up choices, I decided to try products I hadn’t heard of or tried before.

I love the sound of the Suntegrity 5-In-1 Tinted Sunscreen. It has great ingredients as well as SPF30. I’ve only used this once and felt it made my skin glow! I love a multi-tasking product.

How could I not have bought this Skin Owl Clary Sage Beauty Drops with this description? “...Intended for thirsty, ageing skin, with a loss of radiance and elasticity. Smooths, hydrates and plumps mature, dry skin“. I am a huge facial oil fan and have loved using this. It sinks in easily and smells divine.

Finally, as my body was a little dry from neglect/air conditioning/sun, I added the Soapwalla, Luxurious Body Oil to my basket. It is gorgeous. It absorbs into my skin quickly, without leaving it feeling sticky. You can massage a little into your skin and put your clothes straight on. I love the subtle scent too. It is the perfect blend of citrus, ginger and lemongrass. It would be even better if it came with a pump dispenser.
