MAKEUP | PHB ETHICAL BEAUTY MINERAL MAKEUP

makeup, natural makeup, cruelty free beauty, beauty blogger

I have recently been given the opportunity to be part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Programme. Each month I will be given LoveLula points to spend on their website. This is a great opportunity for me to try brands and products I am not familiar with and share my thoughts with you. All reviews will reflect my honest opinion.

LoveLula is an online natural beauty retailer. It’s great to know that a retailer has done the hard work for you in terms of sourcing products that are made using only natural and organic ingredients, and that have not been tested on animals. There ae so many brands to choose from and they also offer free worldwide delivery on all orders over £10.

I am still building my natural make-up collection and really liked the sound of PHB Ethical Beauty, a brand that was new to me. I was really impressed with their ethos. PHB stands for pure, handmade and British. All of their products are made using 100% naturally derived ingredients, with many being organic and they also donate 15% of profits to charity. Although a fairly new company (founded in 2012), I’m surprised they have passed me by until now. You can read more about PHB Ethical Beauty here.

When it comes to mineral make-up, I much prefer to use the pressed version, especially when it comes to eyeshadow.

Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow – Smokey Quartz (£9.95)

This comes in a 100% recyclable lightweight packaging with a flip lid (as do the blusher and bronzer). I’ve used this every day since receiving it – it’s really hepled me look less jet-lagged! It’s described as a ‘dusty brown with gold tones’, however, I found this to be more of a pure gold which is a great shade for illuminating the eyes. It’s also perfect for highlighting the corner of your eyes too.

I like to apply this with a damp brush and then go over using the shadow on a a dry brush. The colour payoff is fantastic. It does fade throughout the day, but I almost prefer this once it has faded a little.

There are around twenty shades to choose from and I will certainly adding to my collection.

Key Benefits: • Free from nano particles, parabens, bismuth oxychloride, talc, formaldehyde, mineral oils, fillers, gluten, fragrance, preservatives & GM ingredients. • Long lasting • Pure ingredients that are gentle to eyes • Water resistant • Buildable colour- sheer or intense • Use wet or dry • 100% natural- great for sensitive skin • Vegan, Cruelty Free and Halal

Pressed Mineral Bronzer in Tan (£14.95)

This is the perfect glow-giving product. I love it! The shade Tan is recommended for light to tan skin tones. This satin finish leaves me with such a healthy glow as well as giving me a sun-kissed look. It looks really pretty swept over cheekbones where the sun woud naturally catch and blends well without sitting on your skin.

Pressed Mineral Blusher in Tea Rose (£14.95)

My make-up collection is lacking in pressed blushers, so I was looking forward to trying this out. There are seven shades to choose from. I opted for Tea Rose which is quite a deep peach/terracotta colour.

A light hand is definitely needed with this! It is so pigmented. I ended up looking like a clown when I first used it! I’ve learnt from my mistake and now sweep my brush lightly over the pan, tapping off any excess and giving it a brush on the back of my arm before applying to my cheeks. I think this is a great shade for summer and works well with the bronzer. It leaves a lovely glow to your skin.

Key Benefits: • Free from nano particles, parabens, bismuth oxychloride, talc, formaldehyde, mineral oils, fillers, gluten, fragrance, preservatives & GM ingredients. • Natural SPF 15 • Long lasting, buildable colour • Water resistant • Nourishes and protects skin • Natural looking finish • Never clogs pores- great for spot prone skin • Naturally radiant: with light reflecting properties that minimise blemishes and fine lines • 100% natural- great for sensitive skin • Vegan, Cruelty Free and Halal
