GREEN BEAUTY | LOVELULA 2016 DISCOVERIES

green beauty, skincare, makeup

In September this year I was invited to become part of natural beauty retailer Love Lula’s Accredited Blogger Programme. This has given me a great opportunity to try new brands and products each month from the LoveLula’ website. As 2016 draws to an end, I’ve written this post with my favourite discoveries.

PHB Ethical Beauty Pressed Mineral Bronzer (£14.95)*

My first ‘purchase’ was from family run, British brand PHB Ethical Beauty. I was very impressed with their eyeshadows (they remind me of the RMS Swift Shadows), but I think my favourite for me was this Pressed Mineral Bronzer. The shade ‘Sunkissed’ is recommended for light skin tones and leaves a beautiful glow to my skin. I like to use it as a golden highlight. I think this will be a little too light for me to use as a bronzer in the summer months, but I love the finish it gives to my makeup at the moment. I think this is a foolproof, easy to use bronzer which would add a natural warmth to fair skin tones which is often hard to find in a bronzer.

Ere Perez Rich Olive Oil Lipstick (£17.00)*

I had heard a lot about this Australian natural makeup brand via fellow bloggers, so when looking for an autumnal lipstick to add to my collection, I chose Ere Perez’s Rich Olive Oil Lipstick in Cocktail – the perfect autumn/winter shade for me; a soft plum colour. This lipstick has been the one I have been reaching for over the past couple of months. It has great colour payoff and importantly, has impressive staying power. Although described as having a matte finish, I find it more of a satin finish which as the title suggests, is not drying at all. I will most certainly be trying more from the Ere Perez range.

Zoya Nail polish (£11.70)*

Although Zoya is a brand familiar to me, I chose to try the shades Hunter and Storm which are both perfect for winter. Hunter is a muted green which I think looks classic, yet with a modern edge. Storm is a dark grey with a holographic glitter which looks amazing when the light catches your nails. Both work equally well as an everyday or evening look and last well before chipping.

Kimberly Sayer Gentle Almond and Lavender Facial Scrub Exfoliator (£21.60)*

This 3-in-1 facial scrub was scent to me for review and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed using it (apart from the almond scent)! I’ve loved using it as part of my morning skincare routine. It works as a cleanser, exfoliator and moisturiser. It has just the right amount of abrrasion and leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated.

Madara Active AHA Brightening Peel Mask (£4.95)*

I discovered this in one of the monthly LoveLula Beauty boxes I have been receiving as part of the LLAB programme. A generous sized sample enabled me to use this a few times. I have only recently started to use brightening masks and find that they are perfect for my skin at the moment. By removing dead skin cells and gently exfoliating this is perfect for brightening up the complexion. You can buy this travel size from LoveLula here.

Eco by Sonia Winter Skin (£25.95)*

I think I can go as far as to say that this is the best self tanning product I have used! It is easy to use and leaves a gorgeous sun-kissed glow to the skin. You can build the intensity of ‘tan’ over a few days or just use one application for a subtle glow. I have written a full review here. I highly recommend!

REN Flash Hydro-Boost Instant Plumping Emulsion (£34)*

I can’t remember if this was included in a monthly beauty box or was sent as a sample, but I do know that I really liked it! After applying to a cleansed face, you add water to your finger tips and massage into your skin before applying moisturiser. This really impressed me and I will be buying the full sized version of this.

If you’ve been tempted to try any of these products, LoveLula currently have a Boxing Day sale on with up to 15% off everything (T&C’s apply).
