I have tried for a long time to guide my daughter on the benefits of green beauty. I have, however, been battling against the Kardashian’s and, unfortunately, they have been winning!

I saw Christmas as an opportunity to go in hard and introduce her to some of the amazing, natural and organic skincare and makeup available. She has definitely been more open to trying ‘green’ skincare in the past, I knew getting her to step away from conventional makeup was going to be a challenge!

I’ve recently been chatting to her about what she thought of the products I bought and it was, in fact, Izzy who suggested I write this post. (For your information Izzy has combination skin).

Pai Skincare Chamomile and Rosehip Calming Day Cream // *Spoiler* you may have seen on my social media that I have already had a request to repurchase this!

Izzy says: I love this moisturiser and have already used my bottle I got for Christmas. I even unscrewed the top to try and get the very last bits out (this didn’t work). I like it as it feels light on my skin and sinks in quickly which is perfect for when I am applying makeup. I like the packaging too – it looks very luxurious.

Therapi Skincare // I chose a skincare set from Therapi as I love their ethos and choice of ingredients. I bought a purifying lemon and myrtle starter set as a great introduction to the brand.

Izzy says: I haven’t really wanted to use this set. Mainly because my long nails get in the way of using the pots of cream and I like to use my toner on cotton pads (this one has a nozzle). My mum has suggested that I take the top of the toner and use it on a cotton pad instead of using the spritz, which I will try. As I haven’t really used this yet, it’s hard to say what I think of the products.

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel // I have bought this for Izzy before and know she liked it. I bought the Oskia Merry & Bright Christmas cracker which included a travel sized cleansing gel.

Izzy says: This is one of my favourite cleansers. I like that you don’t have to mess about with a hot cloth. It’s easy to use and doesn’t leave my face feeling stripped.

Terre Verdi Good Oils Cleansing Oil // I fell in love with this oil when I got to try a sample size towards the end of last year. I’m always nagging Izzy about taking her makeup off properly and thought this would be perfect for that.

Izzy says: This is the best product I’ve used for taking off my makeup. Although I find using a hot cloth a bit of a pain, I would love to have the full sized version of this.

RMS Un Powder // I haven’t used this myself but chose it to try and get Izzy to start using natural makeup (I also thought I could have it if she didn’t like it)!

Izzy says: I didn’t like this powder. I found it sits on top of my skin. I have stopped using it.

Green People Volumising Mascara // I bought this as it is one of my favourite mascaras and was sure it was going to be a hit.

Izzy says: I don’t like this at all. I have been using it as it’s the only one I’ve had, but find there is too much product on the wand and it is clumpy. It does, however, perform well. There’s little smudging which is good, but I will buy a replacement soon.

RMS Un Cover-Up // I thought this could work well as a concealer and foundation for Izzy. I bought it in shade 00.

Izzy says: I actually like this product, although I’m not ready to give up my Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer yet! I have been using this under my eyes and think it performs well. It’s the most successful natural makeup product mum bought me and I can see myself using until the end.

I hope this makes a change from reading my opinion on products! As you can see, I have a long term project on my hands!
