I haven’t written a favourites post for what seems like a long time. I decided not to commit to a regular monthly favourites post as, sometimes, I just don’t have enough to write about.
There have been a few makeup products that I have not stopped using recently. The Jane Iredale PureBrow Brow Gel has been a great new find and has definitely taken the place of my EcoBrow Defining Wax. This isn’t quite a ‘swipe and go’ answer to perfect brows, as I do feel the need to take off most of the product from the wand before using. However, once that’s done, then it’s perfect for making my (slightly wild) eyebrows look groomed, as well as disguising any obvious gaps.
Towards the end of April I started to use my Jane Iredale Glow Time BB Cream along with new purchase, Dr Hauschka Bronzing Tint (I say ‘purchase’, this is what I chose from the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Scheme for April – full post coming soon). I have used the smallest amount of BB cream, as a little goes a long way, along with a drop of the Dr Hauschka Bronzing Tint. I like to use a makeup sponge spritzed with a little rose water lotion to blend. This has been the perfect base for spring.
Another makeup favourite is the Green People limited addition Damask Rose, Velvet Matte lipstick*. This is the perfect nude which seems to suit most skin types. Although a lot of matte formulas can leave your lips looking and feeling dry, this is not the case with this one. It is long lasting too. You can read my full post here.
My skin has been extra dry after some time in the sun and I have found Liquid Gold Pure Tissue Oil* from South African brand BON Natural Oils to be the perfect solution. As someone who can’t really be bothered applying a body lotion, a couple of sprays of this and I’m good to go. It drys immediately, so you can get dressed, or as more often is the case with me, I spritz it on my arms and legs when I’m already dressed! I believe I’ve seen a couple of dubious ingredients listed, so if you are looking for a 100% natural product then this may not be for you.
A travel size FOM’s Hydra Plump & Firm Cream* was included in April’s LoveLula Beauty Box and has been a big hit with me. The pot in the photo is pretty much empty. I don’t always get on with richer creams, but I’ve loved using this for my mature skin which is currently a little on the dry side. It really makes my face feel likes it’s being properly hydrated. Does it look plumper? I can’t say I’m looking any more ‘plump’, but despite the hefty price tag, this is something I will consider buying in the future.
I am having a bit of a trainer obsession at the moment and probably need to put the brakes on buying any more. I’ve never been a ‘shoe’ person, but I have found myself attracted to the trainer section of shops and online over the past couple of months. I have two current favourites, both bought this month. One from And/Or which I believe is exclusive to John Lewis. I love that these are a little different from normal; green camouflage with a flash of red at the heel. They’re also really comfortable too. The second pair I bought are by ecological and fair trade French brand Veja. These are called from the Esplar range and are just a simple, off white, leather trainer – quite a contrast to the And/Or pair (therefore justified, right)?
Let me know if you have an April favourite in the comments below.
