Although I have found quite a few really good natural mascaras over the last year or two, I am always on the look out for recommendations for something new to try. After hearing good things about Inika Long Lash mascara* I knew it was something I’d like to get my hands on, or should I say, lashes on!
When natural and organic on-line beauty store Eco Beauty Crew reached out to me and asked if I’d like to try something from their store, I jumped at the chance when I saw they sold Inika Long Lash mascara!
It lives up to it’s name and definitely enhances the length of my lashes. In terms of how it compares to other mascaras in my collection, I’d say it is very much like my current favourite PHB Ethical Beauty All-in-One mascara – only a little better. It gives a similar effect, but with less effort. It also reminds me of the Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara (if my memory serves me correctly)!
This picture was taken after a quick couple of coats and no tidying up with a cotton bud which I inevitably find I have to do with other mascaras (excuse the frighteningly close photo of my eye)! It definitely lengthens rather than gives volume and I think you’d need to have a spooly on hand to avoid – ‘spider lashes’, but that’s not something that puts me off.
It can be hard to find a natural mascara that delivers enough ‘oomph’ to your lashes, which is where this stands out for me. I have been putting this to the test this week and so far, I have experienced minimal smudging (I say minimal as I did find it smudged a little after a dog walk in the humid rain today, but this was extreme circumstances)! It’s important to make sure all skincare residue is removed from your lashes before applying mascara as this can have an effect on how it performs.
I’m always a little hesitant recommending make-up as what works for one person may not for another. I can tell you this works for me and my lashes – and I have tried a fair few mascaras!
Along with Inikia, Eco Beauty Crew also stock lots of my favourite brands such as Eco by Sonya (love the Winter Skin), Green People (my favourite shampoo and conditioner), Laidbare (purse friendly Pack Your Bags eye cream) to name but a few!
Use voucher code LOVE for 15% off all orders until 10th October. I’m really tempted by the Inika Primer – anyone tried it?
