Favourite Beauty Discoveries From 2017

Lyonsleaf

I discovered affordable green beauty brand Lyonsleaf in 2017. Lyonsleaf would be a great place to start if you’re new to green beauty. Two products from their range have become firm favourites of mine; Marshmallow Rejuvenate Face Oil* and Beauty Balm*. Marshmallow Soften and Rejuvenate Facial Oil is a great all round facial oil which I discovered in a LoveLula Beauty Box*. I like to use it in the morning as it works well under makeup. The Beauty Balm is a multi use product which I use to cleanse my face as well as an overnight mask.

Forrest and Shore Hallelujah Hair Oil

Launched in 2017, this hair oil has really impressed me. I had been a little nervous about using a hair oil before being offered the chance to try this out. Hallelujah Hair Oil* is now a staple product in my hair care routine. I generally apply a generous amount to my hair before bed and wash out in the morning, It helps leave my hair healthy looking with a lovely shine.

Benecos Natural Eyeliner

If you’re looking for a product to create a quick smokey eye, then this is for you. A great choice of colours from classic black to electric blue and are soft and gentle on the eye. I like to use mine rubbed in to the roots of my lashes, or as a cream shadow smudged all over my lid. My favourites are shades Olive and Brown as a great alternative to black. They are such amazing value at under £5.00!

Inika

I am always on the lookout for new beauty products. Inika is a brand that I’d heard a lot about from fellow beauty bloggers and curiosity got the better of me. I ordered the Liquid Foundation along with the Baked Mineral Foundation from LoveLula with the points I receive from their Accredited Blogger Programme. I have just used the last pump of the liquid foundation: I’ve loved it. It’s pretty light coverage which leaves my skin with a lovely healthy glow. I wasn’t wowed by the Baked Mineral Foundation as a base, if I’m honest, but I like to use this on top of the liquid foundation when I want a more polished look.

Eco Beauty Crew got in touch within me in the autumn to ask if I’d like to try something from their online store. Being a bit of a mascara addict, I opted to try the Inika Long Lash Mascara*. I find this mascara gives a little more drama than most of the other natural mascaras I have tried. It is easy to apply and has great staying power. This is up there with my all time favourite mascaras.

Mad Hippie

I prefer to buy my beauty products from UK stockists, but after a bit of ‘surfing’ one day, I ended up placing an order with US online store iHerb. I did some research into serums and acids at the beginning of the year and decided I ‘needed’ to use a Vitamin A Serum. I really liked the look of the Mad Hippie range. I’ll admit to not seeing any obvious benefits from using serums, but I like to think they are working their magic behind the scenes! I have also recently received an order of the Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum, which, unfortunately, I was hit with custom charges. However, I have  just seen that Mad Hippie is now available on Free People which is where I will buy it from in the future.
